Dear SABA Florida Members and Law Students,
This is a friendly reminder that the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) North America Foundation has extended its deadline for local Participating Chapters to submit proposed candidate applications through April 24, 2026, for its 2026 Public Interest Fellowship Program. SABA Florida is actively seeking to sponsor one (1) more local law student or recent graduate for these awards.
SABA North America Foundation plans to fund multiple grants of up to $10,000 each for individuals dedicating their summer to public interest work. Because this is a joint program, applicants must apply directly through their local chapter. The National Foundation will announce Fellowship Awardees on May 8, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be a current law student in good standing OR a recent law school graduate (having completed your degree no more than three years prior to summer 2026).
- You must have confirmed employment or an internship with a public interest organization during summer 2026.
- The position must be for a minimum of eight weeks.
How to Apply: Please review the linked application packet here: https://sabalegalfdn.org/public-interest-law-student-fellowships for complete instructions and requirements. Completed applications and all supporting materials must be submitted directly to us at sabaflorida@gmail.com.
We have also included a flyer below featuring last year’s fellowship awardees to highlight the incredible, impactful work this program supports.
If you are a practicing attorney or professor, please forward this opportunity to any stellar law students or recent graduates in your network who fit the criteria. If you are a student with questions about the application process, please do not hesitate to reach out.
We look forward to receiving your applications and supporting the next generation of public interest advocates!
Sincerely,
Krish Thakker
