SABA Florida Execute Board Role Descriptions

I. Officers:

1. President

a. Term Duration : One Year
b. Further the mission of the Organization as the Chief Executive Officer.

2President Elect

  1. Term Duration: One Year
  2. Assists the President in all duties.

3. VP of Orlando

  1. Term Duration: One Year
  2. Description: In charge of two events in region (i.e. joint voluntary bar events, happy hours, law school receptions, holiday dinners or CLEs)

4. VP of Tampa

  1. Term Duration: One Year
  2. Description: In charge of two events in region (i.e. joint voluntary bar events, happy hours, law school receptions, holiday dinners or CLEs)

4. VP of South Florida

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: In charge of two events in region (i.e. joint voluntary bar events, happy hours, law school receptions, holiday dinners or CLEs)

5. VP of Membership

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: Assists with maintaining correct membership database in conjunction with the national site, sends out a welcome email to new members, and assists with any new member issues and directs them to the correct person of contact.
  3. Membership Recruitment: Reach out to new attorneys who are not members.

6. VP of Communications

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: Creates the actual content (i.e. flyers, posts, etc.), sends out weekly blasts for members, connects website to the national site directors, and uploads content to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and “likes” items on those social media platforms for SABA Florida.

7. VP of Programming

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: Responsible for setting up the programming agenda for the events to take place the upcoming year.

8. Secretary

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: Record meeting minutes, agenda, and various other emails. Also the official bookkeeper.

9. Treasurer

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: Maintains checking account, sends new members to VP of Membership, follows up on dues, and works with the VP of Membership.

II. Law School Ambassador

  1. Term Duration: one year
  2. Description: Promote the organization within your and other Florida Law school communities, encourage participation in SABA events, and foster connections between students and the legal profession.

III. Directors

For the 2024-25 SABA Election Year, there are four (4) director position available:

  1. Term Duration: three years
  2. Description: Charged with advancing SABA Florida’s interest by one of the following:
  3. Florida Bar: Attending committee meetings as a liaison/representative of SABA Florida (i.e. the diversity and inclusion committee or other committees).
  4. Law School Liaison: Creates a relationship with various schools in all regions.
